The Music Ministry of Shalimar United Methodist Church is an exciting fellowship growing both spiritually and numerically. This ministry strives to be a driving force in the area of musical excellence and worship leadership appealing to the church and community not only through special seasonal programs, but, also through organized weekly ministries.
Everyone has a place to be involved in the Music Ministry. We have musical opportunities for preschoolers through adult age. In addition, we offer opportunities to participate in vocal and instrumental ensembles.
Seasonal works include Christmas, Easter and 4th of July presentations by the Chancel Choir; Christmas and Spring Dinner Theaters by the Youth Choir and Christmas and Spring Musicals by the Children's Choirs
Choirs, Orchestra and Ensembles
Chancel Choir:
Open Enrollment- for those 18 and older.
Regular Rehearsals- Wednesdays 7:00pm- 8:30pm (choir suite)
Sings Primarily- 11:00am service and every other month during the 8:00am
service
Seasonal Concerts -Christmas, Lent and 4th of July with full
orchestra.
9:30am Contemporary Praise Team:
Mixed adult
ensemble.
Regular Rehearsals- Sundays 4:30-5:30pm (sanctuary)
Sings primarily- Every Sunday during the 9:30am contemporary worship
service located in the sanctuary
11:07 Contemporary Praise Team and Band
Young adult mixed vocal and instrumental ensemble
Regular Rehearsals-
Thursdays 7:00-9:00pm (Family Life Center)
Sings and plays primarily-
Every Sunday during the 11:07 “Freedom” Worship Service located in the
Family Life Center
Youth Choir:
Open Enrollment- 6th grade through 12th grade
Regular Rehearsals- Sundays 5:30pm- 6:30pm (choir suite)
Sings Primarily- 8:00am service and every other month during the 11:00am
service.
Seasonal Concerts- Fall and Spring Dinner Theaters; 10 day Summer
Choir Tours
Children's Choirs: (Wee Ones (4 and 5 year olds); Sunshine (1st to
3rd grade); and God's Kid's (4th and 5th grade)

(orchestra may play other Sundays as needed)
Seasonal Concerts- accompanies adult choir during Christmas, Lent
