WE'RE SO GLAD YOU'RE CHECKING OUT SHALIMAR UNITED METHODIST CHURCH! This is the place to be if you want to grow in your Christian faith and are searching for a loving and welcoming church family. We are committed to growth through discipleship, worship, fellowship, service, and missions.

Below you will find information or links to help you get to know a little bit about us. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

Shalimar UMC is beautifully blended in worship style with both traditional and contemporary worship services. Our church is located on a busy corner of Eglin Parkway in the heart of the Fort Walton Beach, Shalimar and Eglin Air Force Base communities. We are still a rather young church founded in 1951. Since that time, we've grown and matured to around 1000 attendees.

Mission Statement

The MISSION of Shalimar United Methodist Church is to REACH, TEACH, and SEND.  We REACH out to our congregation, community, and the world to TEACH the word of God as provided in the Holy Scripture, and SEND our members and missionaries to be witnesses to God’s grace and His promise of eternal life to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Vision Statement

Christ Centered. Multi-Generational. Family and community relevant ministries through worship, discipleship, and mission.

children

Nursery is available for all services along with cry rooms. We love children and want them to feel at home in church. We believe parent's know what's best for their family. You are welcome to keep your children with you in service, step into our cry room, or send them to our nursery. Click Here to learn more about our nursery program.

We have children's Sunday school at the 9:30 hour for children 4 years old through 5th grade. Kids are divided into age groups, so they can learn best with wonderful teachers. During the 11:00 and 11:07 services, start upstairs in our Family Life Center for children's church where they worship and receive an age appropriate message. Child check in for both Sunday school and children's church is in the lobby of the Family Life Center.

On Communion Sunday, our children stay in worship with their families. It important to us that children are given the opportunities to participate in communion. We want children and parents to feel free to move about the worship space with their children as needed.
