Nursery Guidelines
Parents, please help us by:
- Never leaving your child in an empty room.
- Dropping your child(ren) off no earlier than 15 minutes before your program begins.
- Registering your child by name on the sign in sheet.
- Making sure the childcare provider acknowledges your child?s presence and understands any special care instructions and/or allergies.
- Waiting your turn outside the door if another parent is dropping off a child and all the staff is busy greeting. Sometimes it can get busy and we need to keep organization for the welfare of your children.
- Telling your child that you are leaving, but will be back soon. After you leave, please do not come back to the nursery to check on your child, it may cause undo anxiety. You will be promptly called if your child cannot be consoled.
- Keeping the pager given to you when dropping off your child with you at all times.
- Not bringing your child to the nursery if she/he has had any of the following signs of illness within 24 hours: fever, vomiting and/or diarrhea, common cold ? from the onset through one week, sore throat, croup, any unexplained rash, any skin infection, nasal secretion that is green or yellow in color (allergies have clear secretion in color) or pink eye. When in doubt, please speak with a childcare provider.
- Allowing only one parent to come to the door and drop off your child. Too many adults in the room can cause undo anxiety to those children already in the room.
- Not standing in the doorway with the door open, children can and have gotten out.
- Tagging all diaper bags, cups, pacifiers, etc. with masking tape indicating child?s name - every time you come in so staff knows who the items belong too.
- Coming for your child immediately at the close of each service or church activity. Even the most assertive child becomes worried when all the other children have gone and their parents have not returned.
- Discussing your concerns or suggestions with the caregiver and if desired the program director. If your concerns are not properly remedied please notify Kim Margold, Program Director, immediately.
- Leaving toys at home. We have a room full of fun, sanitized toys for your child?s enjoyment.
- Coming to the nursery and administering any medicine that must be given to your child.
- Enjoying your experience and trusting that your child is doing the same. We love the children of our congregation. You will be notified immediately if you are needed.
Thank you for helping us help you!
