Freedom Service

Shalimar United Methodist Church’s Freedom Service is held every Sunday morning at 11:07 a.m. in the Family Life Center.

The Freedom Service is a casual, informal worship experience where young and old alike are encouraged to worship God, experience God or just consider God in a way that is non-threatening. We hope that the Freedom Service will be a place where skeptics, seekers and believers will come together to experience God through music, the arts, ancient liturgy, relevant teaching and genuine fellowship.

We encourage those who attend this service to come as you are; we adhere to the motto that no perfect people are allowed. We teach practical messages from the Scriptures that deal with real life issues and believe that God is very interested in meeting us all right where we are at.

When you come to the Freedom Service you will find:

• a casual environment with people just like you
• free refreshments before, during and after the service
• a live band that leads us in inspiring music
• a relaxed worship space with tables instead of pews
• pastors who teach biblical principles that relate to real-life struggles, situations and issues
• multi-media presentations
• creative arts like drama, dance, poetry etc.
• a respect for the past as well as the future through emphasis upon ancient liturgies, communion, baptism and observance of the Christian year
