Sunday May 27

This morning we met back at Mamanoreck United Methodist Church at 8:30 am after we spent the night in host homes . After our morning devotion time we headed to Mt. Kisko United Methodist Church. The Pastor, Matt Curry, is a former member of our church and is the son of Kathy and Charlie Curry. It was Confirmation Sunday so the choir only sang 4 songs. Matt gave an appropriate sermon tying together confirmation and Pentacost. Members of the church grilled hotdogs and hamburgers and invited the congregation to join us for "Dinner On The Grounds following the service. After lunch we loaded up and went to West Point Military Academy for a two hour tour. The Academy is beautiful because it is in the mountains and the Hudson River meanders around it. We were all inspired as we saw the graves of many famous military leaders and we were awed at the beauty of the architecture of the buildings. Following the tour we loaded the bus again and headed to Newburg, NY. We stopped at a shopping center where we got to choose from eating bar-b-que, Chinese, or subway. We then went for a shopping trip to Target and then headed to the hotel at 8:30 pm. We had "free" time until 11:15 and then it was lights out. We have to be on the bus at 6:45 on Monday morning so we can go to Boston for site seeing all day!
