30 HOUR FAMINE

Our youth joined groups throughout the country in fasting form 30 hours to build an awareness of the 29,000 children who starve to death each day. During that time, they built and slept in cardboard shelters like many of the homeless throughout the world as well as a number of service projects including washing cars to raise money to be sent to World Vision to be used to feed children in other countries.
The paper links were made by a small group of SUMC youth last year go get some idea of how large a number 29,000 really is. The links were individually numbered and sold for a dollar each. The links in the photos are actually just a few thousand.
